Apologies

apologies
must be accepted

only fair
to let people
start fresh
clean slate
new page

as in tshuva (repentance)

Yom Kippur
we fast
pray
apologize to G-d
for sins we did
and sins maybe not
dressed in white
start anew

chatan and kallah (groom and bride)
fast and pray
the day
they marry
to start a new life
together
and cleansed
of sins of the old

and we
each day
should think
there many not be
another chance
to repent

*OU Savitsky's official response, mine to him
and an "unnumbered musing" on it all
will appear on
http://shilohmusings.blogspot.com/

stay tuned
