Yesterday
Yesterday, the setting sun chased my troubles away
How can one be sad, when the sky looks this way?
Oh, I believe in yesterday
There's no shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly
{Refrain} Thank G-d for sending me
Reminders of His mercy every day
I try to sing G-d's song
And I thank Him come what may
Oh, I believe in yesterday
I'm so happy and I'll always say
Oh, I believe in yesterday
{Refrain}
Under which the children play
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Yesterday
Beatles
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly
{Refrain} Why she had to go
I don't know she wouldn't say
I said something wrong,
now I long for yesterday
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday
{Refrain}
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Definitely one of my favorite songs. It never fails to make me feel calm.
ReplyDeleteI like your version better.
ReplyDeleteraizy, I live it, too, even though the original "word" was "scrambled eggs," since the tune came first.
ReplyDeletedoc, thanks
I was planning on writing that "Yesterday as I was walking down to a hat sale, I stopped every few feet to take a picture of the sunset."
I meant to comment on the gorgeous photos last night, but I saw them just as I was heading off to bed.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous... I have to say, we live in the best part of the country :)
These pictures are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteThe first one, the sky looks brilliant and you have chosen the most perfect song to go along with these.
thank you for sharing them.
Rebecca
pesky, rebecca,
ReplyDeleteThank you both. It is so gorgeous here, especially the sunrises and sunsets. It took me much longer to get down to where I was going, because I just had to take pictures.
