If It's That Dangerous, Don't Come!!

Is there still time to disinvite US President Bush? The draconian "security measures" being demanded for his "safety" are outrageously insulting. He will be seriously, horrendously seriously, inconveniencing innocent Jerusalem citizens and those of us who travel to Jerusalem for services, shopping and personal reasons.

Streets will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians. Businesses will lose money. Is Bush going to compensate them? What about our wasted time and cancelled appointments?

Just in case you haven't seen the list of "measures," here they are:

Now, if safety was really their priority, there wouldn't be any motorcades, nor grand announcements. Everthing would be quiet and discreet. But men don't like that sort of style.

  1. I'm actually shocked that they are releasing as much information as they are. His itinerary is rarely ever put out in it's entirety. In DC, they don't even say that it's a motorcade that is causing problems with traffic... they just say it's a back up that should be cleared momentarily.

Jimmah Carter, the peanut-head, visited and no one seemed to beat the drums...I'm joking. I live in GA and can't stand Mr. Carter. He is a disgrace.

Bush is showing support for Israel and your government is obviously *beating the drums.*

Just breathe, it will be over soon.

Count your blessings, because if Obama is elected president, I fear US support for Israel will go down the tubes in a hurry.

    An after-thought --
All the security measures wouldn't be necessary if your neighbors would play nice.

Seems like you are shooting the messenger?

  4. I agree that George W. Bush is a serious inconvenience. 8 years of deficits, wars, and disappearing middle class ought to be enough for anyone. Be grateful he'll be leaving you before he leaves us.

I still can't believe this man got elected once, let alone twice.

  5. nosher, they have to let us know where we can't go. It would be easier and safer if he traveled alone and incognito, but little boys love to play with lights and sirens.

vicki, it's not going to protect ordinary people and it's not against Arab terrorists, it's to restrict honest harmless Israeli Jews.

ncye, I guess you got Bush because his father couldn't keep him at any other job and politicians are no great shakes. Look who's running now.
