One More Cleansing Rain Would Help

This is a photo I took of Israeli solar panels, designed to absorb the sun's rays and heat water for domestic use. That's fine in theory, but when the panels, like these, are coated with a thick layer of dust and sand, the system won't work, because the rays will be blocked.

Frequently, as is common many years, springtime is full of sandstorms, and because the sand and dust, which combined with the humidity, sticks to the glass panels, like glue.

Some years, we're much luckier, and there's a final cleansing rain, which leaves the panels clean and shiny. Of course, it's possible to climb up and clean the panels, but most people don't bother. They end up turning on the electric boiler. What a waste!
