It's my father's 92nd Birthday today.
Here's a picture I took of him two weeks ago when I was in Arizona where he now lives with my mother near my sister.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY and spoke only Yiddish until he went to school. My grandfather was from Neshelsk, Poland and my grandmother from Rogotshov, Belaruis. He served in the United States Navy during World War Two as an officer, radar technician. Even though he was never a Torah observant Jew, he was a proud Jew and was called "The Jew."
He got his accounting degree from City College before enlisting and later passed the CPA exam. He has been in love with my mother ever since he first met her over seventy years ago. He's a happy man.
