Village Green was one of the restaurants open Kosher for Passover, no kitniyot, in Jerusalem. We ate there with cousins and enjoyed the food, though the prices add up when you're taking salad. Their orange soup is delicious, with just the right amount of fresh ginger. We ate at the Jaffa Road branch.

It's nicely set up and sticks to the popular menu selections that has made it a Jerusalem favorite for decades. Yes, my friend and I have been meeting at their various locations for decades, ever since the Village Green first opened.

Always loved Village Green, and was heartbroken when they downsized their lovely restaurant in the Ben Yehuda area, turning into Mike's Place's tiny neighbor. Glad to hear they're branching out through the City. You're right about the salads adding up financially -- but we always looked to VG as a place to get a meal-in-a-bowl (of soup) very reasonably.
ReplyDeleteRuti the entire place was too big for the income it produced. They had expected to use the lower level for dairy events/smachot.
