I Guess I Ought To Just Ask

Yesterday a much admired, famous photographer was here, yes, in my house. Although, I wasn't prepared, hadn't dressed for it, no make up and didn't even have all my earring holes filled with earrings, I was photographed. (And I didn't protest it, acting modest, shy nor temperamental. I was very aware of each click of the camera.)

Deciding not to be totally shy about it, I requested that some be sent to me. Nothing was promised, because the lighting was bad, and we're talking about a professional who can't lower standards, of course.

This morning I found that two photos were sent. I forwarded them to family members... and a couple of friends, just a couple. But no, I haven't blogged them. There must be copyright issues when it comes to somebody famous, I presume.

I already sent the photographer thank you's, so I don't want to nudge too soon with more emails. I'll ask about using them more publicly later.

No, they're not flattering in the cheery youthful sense. I think that I look my age, though not decrepit.

  1. That's cool a professional photographer took pictures at your house. What was the occasion though? they just showed up and asked to take a picture of you?

I had gotten a call saying that a reporter from the New York Times wanted to ask me about an even that happened close to twenty years ago. We arranged that he would come over. I had no idea that there would be anyone with him.
For a long time I was the main person here in Shiloh to handle journalist and important visitors.
