We've had unseasonably warm winter weather, yes, while so much of the world is covered by snow. A newscast said that 48 out of the 50 states have snow.
Israel isn't America, nor Europe.
My father even took off his heavy jacket, the one he wears in the house. I bought it for him for Chanuka. He was suffering so from the cold. We'll probably have another couple of cold spells before it's officially summer. And then we'll ask:
There isn't much spring here in Israel, no fall either.

ReplyDeleteI hope so! We still need more rain...
It can rain when warm, too...
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Batya, no reason to be cold and wet. Wet and wet is enough.
ReplyDeleteAhh Risa, so you must enjoy the Rechovot winters.
ReplyDeleteAccording to something I ran across today (fom the old 1905 Jewish Encyclopedia I think) the used to be consideeredto be 5 seasons in the Jewish calendar - probably meaning Eretz Yisroel.
ReplyDeleteThis is maybe only person's idea, and I changed the descriptions somewhat, but here it is:
3 months of spring starting with Nisan.
3 months of summer.
2 months of harvest.
3 months of winter
And Adar which is supposed to be cold.
Great, Jewish seasons.
