There's Always A First Time

Last Thursday at the pool:
"-- cancelled on me.  I don't have anyone to give the shiur (Torah class.)"
"There's something I had been thinking about..."
"I'll check with one more person, and if that doesn't work out, I'll let you know."

Duhh!?!  What had I done?  I volunteered to give a shiur?  Gevalt!

Yes, I did it on Shabbat.  It was very participatory.  Nobody dozed off.

  1. I'm sure it was great, unlike the one my mother volunteered me to do in a few weeks at her backyard Ladies' Shalosh Seudos. :-o
(Last year it was Parshas Pinchas, so I could just wow everybody with my light-speed recitation of the names of the bnos Tzelofchad!)

Kol hakavod. I'm sure they asked you because they knew you wouldn't disappoint! Not everyone knows how to give a shiur.

  4. Shira, I was asked to give a suggestion, and this was the first time I suggested myself.
