Friday morning
clear eyed after a good sleep
laundry in the washing machine
sun shining
but what a mess
to clean
clean laundry to sort and fold
and put away
chanukiyot li yesh
Chanukah menorahs, I have
to dewax, de-oil
de-display
and those greasy, glass cups
to clean
but it's a sunny day
that means
dry, drought
must look at the bright side
laundry can be hung in the sun
don't have to "smile makes a nice umbrella"
two guests for Shabbat lunch
must finish cooking
can't complain
Shabbat Shalom
