Lunch in That Name-forgotten Kosher Miami Restaurant

Somehow I didn't photograph the name of the Miami kosher dairy restaurant my cousins and I ate in the Sunday I was there.  I'd appreciate if someone would add the name in the comments, thanks.

We had a lovely meal. The menu and Hechshar are posted on the window, but I can't see the name anyplace. Those who know Miami should be able to recognize it and the buildings across the way which are reflected in the window.

I had my usual Tuna Salad, which I eat out in many places.

When it's called Salad Nicoise, I just tell them to "hold the potatoes." I think that this restaurant just had "plain old tuna salad," because I don't see the hard-boiled egg you usually find in a nicoise salad.

The restaurant seemed to be one of those family-friendly ones with lots of plain tables and quick service. When my cousin didn't like her food they tried to be accommodating.  There are quite a few kosher restaurants in the area, and I trusted my relatives to choose one.  It's nice to have a choice all within a short walking distance. As I've written before, I was very surprised by the amount of  kosher stores in the Miami area.

Last of my American coffee stock.  I'm not even sure where I was when I bought it, but I do remember that I was with my sister in some store and saw a whole bunch of coffee on sale.  This one is the least successful davka.  Archer Farms Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée.  It's a light roast, so not really strong enough.  When that's gone, I'll have to start perking my Elite Turkish again.

It doesn't have anything approaching the zing my homemade vanilla coffee, which is Elite Turkish well perked with a dash of good vanilla extract.  It's my fault in a way for picking a "light roast."  I should have stayed far away from it.  It has the coffee flavor of an ordinary instant coffee.  My previous Archer Farms was good coffee.

Kashrut is OU.  When I was pulling sale price coffee out of the bin in the store I can't remember*, there were many OU coffees.  I looked for the hechsher, kosher certification first and the name and strength of the coffee second. I remember being wary about the "light roast," but the vanilla in the label intrigued me.  Years ago I had bought a vanilla-flavored coffee from a different brand and loved it.  Lesson learned.

*As I was checking out more about Archer Farms I discovered that it's a house brand of Target, so I must have bought the coffee there.  My sister and I did go there to get my grandkids all sorts of arts and crafts supplies.

Of course, the reliability really depends on the owner and workers in each food establishment. Remember that very few places have full-time supervision.

I'm always amazed at the people who doubt the reliability of other people's homes, but they buy commercially prepared food.
