Wild "Ruby Tuesday" Flowers at Tel Shiloh

Last Tuesday I didn't Ruby Tuesday, but I did take this picture at Tel Shiloh, the site of the Ancient City of Shiloh, yes, the Biblical one.  I live just over a mile east of it, "up the hill," as we locals say.  I live on the other side of the higher hill to the left of the picture.  It would be pretty accurate to say "just keep walking," sort of Forrest Gump style, and you'll get to my house.

According to Israeli Law, these flowers are protected, and it's illegal to pick them.  But you can shoot them with a camera, just like I did.

The gorgeous clown is my granddaughter, and the queen is my other granddaughter.  No doubt they adore their handsome uncle.  They're dressed up in costumes for the Purim holiday.

We had a cook-out on our mirpeset, balcony/terrace.  At least the cooking was done there and we ate in the house.  I think that it's a family custom already.  We did it last year, too.

Rocking Ruby Tuesday

With my eagle eyes always searching for something red to shoot, I spied this red plastic see-saw perched on the entrance to a storage basement.  No, I haven't the vaguest idea why or how it got there.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Mazal Tov, Ruby Tuesday!

As I was going through the pictures on my latest Cd, this was the first one with red.  I didn't plan on choosing it.  I was looking for flowers or some other nature scene.  Then that red winter coat hit my eye.  How could I ignore it and the story?

Last week, two young kids who grew up in Shiloh got married.  One was born in Mexico and the other in the USSR.  Living in Shiloh united the two families with the wedding of their children. 

As you can see from the picture, one of the mothers is in a wheelchair.  She is temporarily handicapped, so a friend took charge of wheeling her around, and that ruby red coat with the fur collar belongs to one of them.

It's funny what your eye will spy when you're searching for red to photograph for Ruby Tuesday.

Actually, I was searching my picture CD's for a totally different picture when I noticed this one.  I took it last week when I had joined the packing at A Package from Home, a volunteer group which sends personal supplies to Israeli combat soldiers.  This is the line of gifts for women soldiers.  There are hand-knit scarves here.

Ruby Tel Aviv Tuesday

We escaped to Tel Aviv a few weeks ago.  While walking around I suddenly noticed this red-faced building and snapped it specifically to post for a Ruby Tuesday.  Sorry, I don't remember what building it actually is.  It's probably a hotel.  So if someone can identify it, please do in the comments, thanks!

Ruby Tuesday Playing Blackjack

I was inspired by Risa's Ruby Tuesday picture and decided to search my most recent CD for something with red.

And so I discovered the deck of cards has just the right red for us.

In this picture my father and our young neighbor are playing Blackjack, but his usual game of choice is Casino.  As a CPA should, he still can calculate quite well, probably better than the youngsters who are much too dependent on electric calculators, whether on their phones, computers or whatever.
