We were privileged to be invited to a beautiful joyous wedding, which was held last night in Jerusalem. I got to see so many good friends, which was a bonus. Thank Gd. May the young couple be blessed with good health, lots of wonderful healthy children, long life and a super-sized sense of humor, Gd willing.

SPRING! Flowers All Over
The other day when I took a walk around the neighborhood I just couldn't resist photographing all the gorgeous flowers in my Shiloh neighborhood. It's Passover, springtime and beautiful! Yes, besides burning calories a walk is a visual pleasure.
Please don't ask me the names of the plants, but if you know them, comment, thanks.

After Winter Will Be Spring
I discovered this "draft" which just had these flowers. I guess I had starting writing a post and never finished. So, since we're enjoying the G-d given winter this year, it's nice to remember that we can only have flowers if it rains.
The top and bottom photo were taken outdoors, and the middle one was a gift.

What do My Roses Have in Common With My Nail Polish?
Take a good look and think about it.
In the meantime.... Don't you agree that I do have the most gorgeous roses, thank G-d. Honestly, He is a better gardener than I am.
Does anyone know what these roses have in common with my nail polish? I'll give you a few days to guess. OK?

Naturally
I was feeling very positive towards nature when I planned this post to highlight some nice pictures I had just taken. But just a few minutes ago when I went to prepare my morning coffee I saw that the black ants had reached a crucial "table." I've been washing my floor with special "anti-ant" cleaner and keeping the sinks clean. We have to do some major plumbing repairs, which our regular plumber can't do, so I didn't have the house "treated" this spring. I don't need the extra aggravation, and work.
But these pictures have been waiting on photobucket... for your viewing pleasure.
Talking about pleasure? This cat seems pretty happy to me. That's the life!

I don't think the donkey is complaining. The local kids do their best to keep him happy.

When I was approaching my house, I saw these birds looking out for me.

And there are still flowers blooming, even though summer heat is hard to avoid.

No, sorry, I'm no expert in the flora here and can't tell you what they're all called.

Shiva ending and flowers at the last of the sun
I've been popping in every day for a few minutes at the shiva house. It's strange. I was on the "Vaadat Klita" when they all arrived. And then at the funeral, I did the "kriyah," the knife cut on the mourner's clothes. I feel responsible. The clan enjoyed their 16 years here, but they're moving on. Within a short time, only the old woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother in her grave will remain in Shiloh.
Tonight's the last night of the shiva. Tomorrow morning they "get up" and go to the grave to say goodbye.
Walking home, the light was strange. It was that "last light" just before dusk. The pictures didn't come out very well, but they match my mood.

Matching Gifts

The "mixing of guests" can be very risky. We were lucky this past Shabbat. The "boy from the Bronx" and the "lantzman building across the street" got along fine, and their gifts did, too! I combined the flowers into one large vase.
Added bonus, the strong-smelling flowers help mask the neft-kerosene smell, my daughter's stuff has after their "escape."
