Where's Winter?

winter,
where are you?
hiding?
it's Kislev
the month of Chanukah
when we should
be dressed in
all our layers

where are you hiding?
not behind a cloud
they, too, can't be found

in the mists
that rise
from the valley
making it look
like I live
in a tower
overlooking
a moat

so why
aren't you
replenishing
our earth

rain
in the Holy Land
dependent
on our mitzvot

so
we must
be sinning
