The countdown to Rosh Hashannah has begun!
The Jewish New Year is not a wild party. It's a two day holiday, when we're supposed to reflect on our lives and deeds. There are many prayers special to the day, and the shofar is blown.
Intense preparation begins a month before, Rosh Chodesh Elul. Today the dawn looks frightening. But the chances are that the day will be beautiful. We have to learn from that. Sometimes things look very bad, but we shouldn't panic. We must have faith, do everything we can, and G-d willing it will be good.
