היו היה "
Hayo, Haya," Those Were The Days is the name of a bistro, a nice dairy restautrant in the back of the Clal Building, Agrippas Street, Jerusalem. I had a late (
for me) night snack there a few weeks ago with a couple of my kids. It's adjacent to the
shuq, the
Machane Yehuda open market and a short walk from the center of town.
I had already had dinner at home, so I just ordered some אדום
adome "red*" vegetable soup, and my kids shared a techina salad and a large foccacia, which is like a tomato-less pizza.
We were all very happy with our orders. The food was delicious.

It's called an "orange" soup in most restaurants and cookbooks.
