OK, now for something good!
I've been writing the most miserable depressing posts on Shiloh Musings, so before I eat my dinner, something good!
When we first made aliyah, in 1970, the stray cats were so pathetically small and thin.

so it is not true that stray cats have all but disappeared in parts of israel?
I only know about my parts of Israel.
We've got plenty of them here in Ra'anana, and for the most part, they're very well-fed. Many of them are positively FAT!
Sometimes when I throw out food, I intend it for the strays--
makes me feel less wasteful.
