eating out kosher

One of the great things about living here in Israel is that there are so many kosher restaurants. Jerusalem is the center of kosher eating as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe it's a remnant of my vegetarian days, or years or let's say decades, two and a half to be exact, but I tend to eat out in dairy restaurants. Today was an exception. I ended up meeting the boy from the Bronx, since I needed to get some pictures to him, which he will deliver to my parents, G-d willing. G-d seemed very willing, since when I called him from the photo place he told me that he was on his way to downtown Jerusalem to meet my dd#1.

After we helped him pick out gifts--it's so much fun to help others spend their money--we needed food. He did not want dairy, which meant meat. OK, we were near Zion Square, so I suggested the Rimon Meat Restaurant. I last ate meat there over 30 years ago, and my memories are good. He had some sort of exotic and impressive-looking sandwich, which he was happy with and I had what they called a "Spring Salad." It was served on lettuce and tomatoes and consisted of stir-fried chicken breast, mushrooms and other yummy food. Actually it was much, much better than I could have ever expected.
The view from my seat was an added bonus, as you can see from these two pictures.

Afterwards we went back to his rented car, and he took me to French Hill so I could get a ride or bus home. Within a couple of minutes, there was a ride with neighbors. As we approached Shiloh we saw one of the most amazing sunsets.

Baruch Hashem, what a wonderful day!

So many restaurants, so little time...at least there's eluna.com!

It's more fun to meet for a meal!
