Is somebody missing?

Reading this Avraham Fried interview about his slick new music video, I couldn't help but notice that he didn't mention another famous singer, who has made it big in mainstream (general, not Jewish) music. The other singer is also Lebovitch, though from a different type of background and writes and sings very different sorts of songs.

Yes, of course, I'm talking about Matisyahu, who has amazed not only the music world but has, even more so, amazed all those Jews who think that Judaism is a turn-off.

I took the picture over a year ago at an anti-Disengagment demonstration in New York.

it may be all about the music but there's a limit.
He's not going to promote another musician:)

IMNSHO, Matisyahu is a passing fad. This Bob Marley imitator will not be remembered 5-10 years from now. Whereas, we are still singing the niggunim of Reb Shlomo Carlebach from decades ago, and those of Modzitz and other Chassidic groups from decades and even centuries ago! Note that the article DID mention Carlebach, Shenker, Erlich and R. Dovid Werdyger...

why would think one singer would promote another? interviews are to focus on the one who is being interveiwed. I dont think anything of it.
