I don't like the tone of the articles I've seen in the New York Times castigating Elizabeth Edwards for writing a book about her marriage to John.
Doctors speak of a "cancer personality," people who hold in anger and other emotions. Therefore, people suffering from cancer are frequently told to let loose. Don't be afraid to complain or say "no."
Mrs. Edwards has lots of complain about, and she wrote a book about it. She's a public figure fighting a cancer that seems to be like RivkA's.
She has two young children, and she hasn't thrown her husband out of the house. Considering her health, as long as he is a good father and helping out, the decision is hers.
I wouldn't want to get into her shoes. Her life must be hell, and I hope the book helps her. The kids will survive the book and all the revelations about their parents. It's better that Mrs. Edwards writes the truth as she sees it, than all sorts of gossipers guess it.
